A couple weeks ago, I was at Bear Lake with my family.
And I did something unthinkable…
I didn’t work. At all.
gasp… I know right?
No work. No business. No thinking about what I “should” be doing.
No slipping away from dinner to record a reel.
No ditching my kids to go write a quick email.
Just pure presence.
And here’s the wild part.
My business didn’t just survive while I was away.
It grew.
I know, that’s not what most entrepreneurs are told.
We’re told to grind. To work weekends and holidays. To “out-hustle” everyone else.
Because that’s the way to get ahead, right? You have to work when everyone else is resting….?
Right…?
Well that’s the story.
But I think it’s a lie.
And if you’re reading this, you probably feel it too.
In this letter, I’m going to show you how to build a business that ALLOWS for rest and recovery.
And why it’s not just a nice-to-have, but a requirement if you want to succeed long term.
If anyone tries to tell you you need to work weekends and holidays to get ahead, you should RUN.
As if working one extra day when others aren’t is going to change anything 🙄
I used to believe that if I just never stopped working, I’d get ahead.
But all it did was leave me anxious, caused burnout, and put my business into a constant “peak and valley” cycle.
You know that feeling? The guilt when you’re not working. The fear you’re missing out. The constant pressure to do more.
It drives entrepreneurs to be “always on”. As if that’s the recipe for success.
But it’s a complete lie.
As with everything in life, hard work has to be paired with deep recovery in order to make progress.
Think about weight training.
If you train the same muscle every day, you don’t get stronger. You get injured.
You might feel like you’re making fast progress for a week. But an injury can set you back by months.
Muscle is built in the rest period.
Business is the same.
The periods of rest are what allow you to come back stronger, more creative, and more effective.
But the good news is, rest doesn’t have to mean your business stops.
It means you get smart about building systems that run without you.
So you allow yourself to rest, and the business keeps growing.
Here’s how I do it.
The first step is optimizing what you’re actually doing when you ARE at work.
When you do this right you can work 50% less but be 10x more productive.
Because productivity isn’t about working harder.
It’s about getting more output from less input.
Most people have 3–4 hours of real, focused work in them each day.
And the morning is when your body is primed to get into the deepest flow state.
So I structure my mornings for maximum impact:
After noon, my energy drops. That’s when I do a quick reset (workout, go on a walk, meditate, each lunch, etc.)
Then the afternoon is for nonessential tasks → calls, admin, and the “busywork.”
With this schedule I can make more progress in 3 hours a day than most people do in 40 hours a week.
Most entrepreneurs are addicted to new projects.
Launch something, sell it, then start over.
But the real leverage comes from finishing what you start, and building systems that keep working while you rest.
Here’s what that looks like:
Most “marketers” just build a quick MVP, launch it, and then move on to something new.
If you want a scalable business, you have to get in the habit of building your marketing systems to completion.
That means continuing to optimize and finalize even after launch.
Until you have a system that is completely evergreen that never needs to be touched again.
While I was at Bear Lake, I got notifications every day of new sales.
People found my content, opted in, bought products, and even booked calls.
All while I was eating raspberry shakes with my kids.
That’s the power of systems.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing the right things, once, and letting them work for you.
Once your business systems are built, all that’s left to do is to create and share your message.
(And then the funnels will automatically capture and convert people)
But here’s the trick: you don’t need a new idea every day.
Instead, build a content waterfall:
This way, your content keeps flowing, even when you’re on vacation.
And you’re not stuck trying to be creative 24/7.
The best part is, your audience won’t even notice if you spread the same idea across different formats and weeks. They’re not paying as close attention as you think.

A good content system isn’t about chasing trends or going viral.
It’s about showing up consistently, sharing what matters, and letting your systems do the heavy lifting.
